I had gotten an exposure done in early September and when I had gone for the consultation, I'll be honest, I was a nervous wreck. I didn't like the thought of having to go into surgery for my teeth. After my consultation I felt a little better and the doctor was very reassuring. Later that day, I thought to myself that I just needed to get it over with. A couple weeks later and I had my surgery. The second day of having my teeth exposed was probably the worst of it because I was really sore and I couldn't eat the food I wanted. But I had quickly gotten use to some solid foods.
What surprised me the most was how I was able to travel out of town only two days after my surgery and not feel totally miserable. My mouth was healing so fast that I was participating in my high school sport not even a week later! At my appointment two weeks later, all the packing was removed and I could actually see my teeth coming in. That's when I started to get excited...I couldn't wait to see what my smile would look like once they were straightened out and pulled down!!
Currently, my teeth are down and in place and I can see my new found smile.
Now when I look back at how scared I was for my exposure, I think of it as a 'no big deal'. All the staff at Spokane really made sure of that. They made me feel really comfortable every check up I went to and really cared when I told them a concern of mine. So a big THANKS goes out to them!!
